Singapore Xtreme Championship 2009 is a sporting event held in Singapore from August 29 to 30 August 2009. The event was held at Xtreme Skatepark @ East Coast over the two days from 10am to 5pm. The event features three competitions in extreme sports, namely BMX Freestyle Park, Aggressive Inline Park and Skateboard Park. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was Guest-of-Honour at the official launch of Xtreme Skatepark @ East Coast on Saturday, 29 August accompanied by Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development, and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports. A total of seventy five competitors from seven countries around Asia including Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia participated in the event with a total of more than five thousand people attending the event over two days. ==Demographics of visitors== There are no specific sports tourists in general. However, there are these three international athletes with different abilities coming from different countries who attended this event. They are Takeshi Yasutoko who is a professional in aggressive in-line skating, Tim Wood who is a BMX Freestyle pro and Trevor Ward who specializes in skateboarding. These three pro athletes have different reasons for attending this event. However, some motivations are similar and these are in terms of their passion towards their sports and to give encouragement and support for the amateurs to never give up and to keep following their dreams.
